well, well, well what insta-tanks my health
taking a break from moping about my crash to make some notes for myself about what destroys my health instantaneously, preferably so i don't tumble into these pitfalls constantly. it's not nearly as dramatic as how i'm wording it... it's usually the difference between a "good day" and a "tough day."
stress is the easiest one, although the triggers are variable. uncontrollable circumstances are the worst; other ppl fighting, ppl being mad at me (and making it my problem?), other ppl's problems w/o warning, and any traumatic triggers coming out of nowhere are all solid contenders for day ruiners. the way to deal is by cutting out as many antagonistic ppl as possible, muting/ignoring dms or accts that engage in this, and having friends around when facing any of these. i've found ruminating over these is also a bad stress trigger... so it's best to leave it for later or find a quick solution.
bad sleep is the hardest to work around atp, but the triggers are usually going to bed too emotional, working too hard right before bed, or overthinking in bed. solutions are usually to take the last hour or two before bed nice and easy, as well as keeping to low-stress thoughts once in bed. no need to solve stress problems after it gets late.
illness is unavoidable sometimes, but the point is to keep healthy. yummy yummy vitamin c...
overexertion relates to chronic illness, but will make the next day intolerable (like today!). solution is simply to keep an eye on the time and get more comfortable being a buzzkill when i need rest; 2 hour periods of activity are best, but any more than 3.5 is asking for trouble. mentally, i need to quit at 3 so i can go down before my health does, haha.
exciting fanfic no no no i do not need to read that kingsman yaoi it's bedtime not eggtime. solution is to pace like above, but also remember reading is a taxing activity, especially if i'm really drinking it in. yummy yummy vitamin c wait wha
ok neat. maybe by writing i will finally get a handle on these!
